Social Group
The Social Group provides a varied and interesting programme of entertainment for the parishioners of St George's and the wider community. The events are varied and include, ceilidhs, Burns suppers, trips to the pantomime in Glasgow, friendship lunches. All are well attended and enjoyed by everyone. The remit of the Social Group is to provide a varied and interesting programme of entertainment for the parishioners of St George's and the wider community. The enthusiastic and dynamic group of people who form the Social Group come from a variety of backgrounds; hence there is a wide range of expertise in the group, some of which has been passed down through the years. We meet every six to eight weeks to plan activities throughout the year. Meetings are usually light-hearted and fun as we build on past success and investigate new possibilities. In the past we have had a ceilidh, a Scottish night, Friendship lunch and a Burns supper. These events have all proved very popular and we are grateful to everyone for the ongoing support. We are also willing to support other projects or ideas people may have, but which they feel they would be unable to progress on their own. Please feel free to discuss your ideas with any member of the social group listed below or arrange to attend one of our meetings.
