Membership
Dumfries has a population of approximately 35,000.
St. George’s Parish has a population of between 2,300 and 3,000
At the last count there were just under 800 homes in the Parish, with 100 new homes recently completed or still under construction.
Distribution of Members
The greatest number of members are resident in the Calside, Georgetown, Loganbarns and Heathhall areas of the town and scattered across the Maxwelltown side of the river and Hardthorn area.
The membership currently stands at 555.
Largely as a consequence of its Evangelical tradition the congregation is drawn from all parts of the town and beyond.
The church is only as strong as its members, and we have many fine people who make up our church. We have a very good spread of ages in our congregation, from babies only a few weeks old, to some members who have been around for over 90 years and are still all fired up and as active as they were 50 years ago.
